Tunnel Lighting Control

Good visibility is the key in traffic safety. Light controlling systems adjust lighting in tunnel entrance cone, to provide driver’s eyes time enough to adapt to new conditions without any dazzling.

Light controlling manner is chosen to specific properties of each individual tunnel. Our systems base on measuring outside light conditions, sky brightness, veiling glare lighting, tunnel luminaries' condition and traffic flow and density. Any moment they provide optimal illumination and energy saving at the same time.

All consist of photometers light controlling devices and switch-gear / dimming equipment. The main photometer is placed at a stopping distance in front of the tunnel. It measures outside light conditions, which affect drivers before entering. In-tunnel photometers measure road illumination and luminaries' condition. According to this data and other sensors controlling unit adapts lighting all along the tunnel tube.
